White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders held a press briefing today where she was forced to deal with reporters that don’t believe in the concept of politeness or professionalism.
The order of the day centered around the recent gas attacks in the Syrian suburb of Douma, east of Damascus.
President Trump condemned the attacks on Sunday.
“Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putting, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price…”
Despite President Trump doing exactly what the media has wanted him to do for months by calling out Russia’s part in these attacks, the reporters in the room just could not bring themselves to praise his response.
“Didn’t the President, by saying, that he wants to get out of Syria, essentially give a green light to Assad to do this, as John McCain has suggested? The United States was leaving -”
Sarah stopped him mid-sentence and corrected the record for the American people.
“Look, we are still there and I think that it is outrageous to say that the President of the United States has green lit something as atrocious as the actions that have taken place over the last several days. The President, once again, made it very clear how he feels about those types of actions, when this took place roughly a year ago and we are going to continue looking at all of our options on the table, currently.”
