After the elections, we realized that media plays a big part in forming people’s opinions.
That’s why it’s important for reporters and media organizations to write the truth, in order to achieve something.
Sadly, some of the reporters aren’t adhering to the rules.
The President recognized these media omissions. He recently recommended that the Senate Intelligence Committee should start an investigation about CNN alongside with other news portals. This Thursday, there was a White House press briefing about these actions. The White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders was in charge of talking to the reporters.
She answered a lot of questions, but was most frustrated with the media-oriented ones.
She values the influence of the media and highlights the need for improvement in this field. The story that proved CNN poor journal skills was the one with the Russian propaganda. Alluding to how they helped Trump to win the election when instead proofs show that they favored Clinton.
CNN’s Jim Acosta reporter asked Sarah Huckabee-Sanders about the investigation against the company he works at.
“Does he value the First Amendment as much as he values the Second Amendment?” Acosta asked. To this, Sarah Huckabee-Sanders gave a shocking response. She hit him straight with facts. A study found out that only 5% of media coverage were “positive” about the President. She implied that the media focuses on throwing shade at Trump, instead of talking about the real problems.
The ISIS situation, the unemployment, the bad healthcare system are subjects that need to be talked about. That’s what America is interested in. Acosta tried to interrupt her, but she embarrassed him by saying “Hold on.. I allowed you to finish.” – as Subject Politics reports.
She continued “You’ve only found 5 percent of your time to focus on some of those issues. And frankly, those are the issues that most Americans care about, not a lot of the things that you cover… I think we need to move towards a more fair, more accurate and, frankly, more responsible news media for the American people.” After this, the whole press room was shocked from Sarah Huckabee-Sanders bravery.
The President insists on going through an investigation. He thinks that If Russia really took part in the American politics then at least we deserve to know who received the help. Having an honest and fair presentation of the American society is very important, especially in times like these. Keeping the media clean from propaganda is the first step if we want a new start.
