Extra Extra Read All About It! Trey Gowdy and Devin Nunes walked into the office of Rod Rosenstein and were given access to the document they were looking for.
The information was subpoenaed way back in August of 2017.
Specifically, it is a two page document that “opened the counter intelligence investigation” which led to the special counsel. Of course, the duo had to threaten contempt of congress charges and impeachment. But hey, they have seen the document now and can continue with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s investigation.
Sara A. Carter, investigative reporter tweets NUNES’ Statement just moments ago:
“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and Rep. Trey Gowdy met with DAG Rosenstein this afternoon and got the EC document. It came after threats of contempt and impeachment of Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray.”

Nunes Statement on Access to FBI Electronic Communication in FULL below:
From Washington D.C. – House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today.
“After numerous unfilled requests for an Electronic Communication (EC) related to the opening of the FBI’s Russia counterintelligence probe, Chairman Trey Gowdy and I met this afternoon with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. During the meeting, we were finally given access to a version to the EC that contained the information necessary to advance the Committee’s ongoing investigation of the Department of Justice and FBI. Although the subpoenas issued by this Committee in August 2017 remain in effect, I’d like to thank Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein for his cooperation today.”
Below are some of the tweets that immediately showed support of the dynamic duo’s work:
Stanley writes, “Should be interesting. Need to impeach both of them anyway. Rosenstein for sure. Hands are too dirty on many things.” And Chuck says, “Having to threaten the FBI director and DAG with contempt and impeachment to produce documents is disgraceful.” And Curious George says, “The public need[s] to know NOW what this says!
